KOMI Group appoints MC2 as strategic comms partner

Strategic marketing communications agency MC2 has been appointed by digital media powerhouse KOMI Group to drive its communication strategy as it eyes further international growth.

The partnership will see the employee-owned strategic marketing communications agency, which specialises in supporting high-growth businesses, develop KOMI’s external narrative, aligned with the wider company mission to build the most engaged digital audiences in the world.

As the Group’s communications agency, MC2 will focus on building the story of the brand, as well as attracting future talent and strategic partners.

Founded in 2016 as a single Facebook page ‘It’s Gone Viral’, KOMI Group has transformed into a sustainable, scalable digital business with a team of 120 media experts. The Group has over 40 social media brands in its portfolio, which generate more than 4 billion monthly views and engage 150 million followers around the world.

Founder Andrew Trotman has worked alongside group managing director Sam Lenehan to grow the business significantly. The duo have completed four strategic acquisitions in three years, strengthening KOMI’s position with niche audience sectors while maintaining its trajectory of rapid, sustainable organic growth. This has resulted in a 45 per cent year-on-year increase in annual turnover.

With two significant investments totalling more than £10m from BGF, the UK and Ireland’s most active investor in high-growth businesses, KOMI Group is now focused on supercharging its growth strategy with international expansion plans, strategic M&A activity and further talent acquisition.
