Festival Spirit To Sweep the Velodrome
On top of our work supporting the return of Business Heavyweights this Autumn, MC2 is putting its muscle into yet another outstanding corporate fundraising event for long-standing charity partner, Maggie’s.
On Thursday 5th July, a brand new innovative festival of activity will transform the National Cycling Centre with the first ever ‘Velofest’. As part of the one-night-only festival, cycling enthusiasts from across the private sector will get the opportunity to take on the ‘One Lap Challenge’ and put in their fastest sprint on the brand new Manchester Velodrome track, raising money to support those living with cancer.
Organised by Tour de Manc and the National Cycling Centre, Velofest promises a unique festival atmosphere, including cocktails from The Alchemist, specially brewed beer by Brightside Brewing, festival food by The Striped Pig and an exclusive dessert from Gino D’Acampo.
As well as a training session with world-class professional cyclist, Richard Lang, and a commemorative cycling jersey for all riders, the racer who bags first place will win a money-can’t-buy prize courtesy of Velodrome sponsor HSBC. If that wasn’t enough, BBC Sport will be in the commentators’ booth whilst entertainment on the night comes courtesy of Hacienda favourite, DJ Dave Haslam, and Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners.
It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to race like an Olympian so get in touch to secure your place in the peloton!
