Strategy
Demonstrating the positive impact that Deloitte has on its clients, people and communities across the North West.
Tactics
- Implement a targeted approach to focus on high growth sectors including M&A, TMT and Real Estate, as well as building the profile of the firm on a corporate level.
- Develop halo market reports to showcase sector expertise, including the: North West Share Index, which measures the performance of the region’s listed companies; the TMT Predictions, which identifies the tech trends influencing the industry; and the Cross Border Deals Radar, which monitors inbound and outbound M&A activity.
- Develop strong regional journalist relationships for partners and directors.
- Provide Deloitte with a strong voice that is central to the Cabinet Office’s Northern Powerhouse programme.
- Provide workshops to partners and directors to help influence and shape their go to market strategy within their focus areas.
- Working with the North West senior leadership team and helping to build personal networks and connections.
Results
- Our targeted sector approach has changed the perception of Deloitte in the North West. The firm is now regarded as the owner of TMT among business advisers and Deloitte’s Real Estate practice is responsible for more than 90 per cent of all new developments in Manchester.
- We have been instrumental in the success of the Deloitte Football Money League report, which is driven from the North West office and has become the firm’s best performing piece of research globally.
- National exposure for other North West-led research pieces including the Crane Survey and TMT Predictions.
- Formed a long term partnership with research firm Experian MarketIQ to provide data on inbound and outbound M&A activity, which has resulted in the continued success of the quarterly North West Cross Border Deals Radar. Such regional reports are now being replicated across other Deloitte UK regions.
- Deloitte is now at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse debate and was part of the tech trade mission to San Francisco which took place in March 2017.
- More than 2,500 pieces of quality regional press coverage in the last five years.
